FamilyVue Tracks Surgical Patients
A new patient tracking system has been installed at Methodist Hospital to make it easier to follow the progress of your loved one through surgery. FamilyVue monitors are located in the Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery waiting rooms, the Hospital Cafeteria on the second floor and Cyber Joe’s the Internet café on the first floor.
Coded names appear on the monitors and the time the patient goes to pre-op, surgery and recovery are displayed. The display automatically refreshes every 20 seconds, keeping information accurate and in real time. Brochures to explain the system are given to family members when the patient is admitted.
